Oil Change
Changing the oil in your car every 3,000 miles is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to lengthen the life of your engine. Since your car is often your second most expensive asset, it’s not a bad idea to take good care of it.
And while cars should ideally get major check-ups at 30k, 60k and 90k miles, the oil change is a great opportunity to take a look at things before they become expensive problems. That’s why our oil changes include a 57-point inspection. You don’t have to pay extra for the “premium service” with us. All our customers get our very best service.
Up to 6 quarts of oil
Most shops include up to 5 quarts of oil with their oil changes. We go the extra quart!
We’re careful about the products we use
They say there’s no free lunch and that you get what you pay for. When it comes to automotive parts, it is especially true. Inexpensive lube shops cut corners by using low-end oil filters. We use the same filters that you get at the dealership without paying dealership prices.
Environmentally conscientious
Swedish Engineering West was the first auto shop in Lane County to build an oil collection separator, complete with a berm. We use only top quality oil (all used oil is sent for recycling) and our state-of-the-art system guarantees that no oil can escape into the environment.
57-point inspection
Under the hood
We go under the hood to visually check the condition of belts, hoses, cables, fluid levels and we inspect for oil and fuel leaks. Detecting an early leak can save bundles down the line. While not everything can be seen by the naked eye, we do our utmost to make sure everything is in good working order.
Suspension system
We put your car on a lift in order to inspect the front and rear suspension system (something most lube shops cannot do). We visually inspect the steering and brake systems along with tire wear and pressure.
Lights
We test all your lights, signals and instruments inside your car and out.
Test drive
We even test drive your car to check for drive-line vibrations, steering issues, and transmission and clutch operation. We test the wipers, washers, power windows, power locks, gear-shift indicators etc.
There are some things we cannot see, since some parts may look fine on the outside. It is recommended that rubber hoses and belts be replaced every 60,000 miles or eight years. When under pressure and heat, rubber begins to age and degrade. It can become cracked, especially from the inside.
